A second operator.
Not a chatbot.
Describe what you want. The Director reads your project, then does the work by pressing the same buttons you do — real operations on your timeline, live in front of you. No hidden path: every move is a typed operation on the record.
How it actually works.
There's no privileged path. Intent becomes typed operations, and operations land on the one op-log every edit shares — the same log your own cuts write, each move labeled as the Director's.
The lifecycle, end to end.
Free edits apply live as it works — no approval step, you watch them land. Generation and renders are the spend: proposed with a credit total, reserved only on your yes. The conversation itself is metered, drawing what each turn's reasoning used. Approve the proposal below and watch it commit.
It physically can't overspend.
The choreography is real.
As it works, a focus halo moves from clip to clip and the inspector updates in place — not a cutscene, but the actual operations landing. The Director never drives a cursor; it types operations and the UI shows the result.
It declines before it spends.
Ask for a real person's likeness without their consent, or anything a model provider would refuse, and the Director says no — before a single credit is reserved — then offers a route that actually works.
Exactly your operations — plus generation.
Every edit you can make by hand, it can make too. The only thing it adds is the ability to propose multi-model generation — which spends, once you approve. Export, master and app-level commands are deliberately off its list; those stay yours alone.
It's the upgrade over the free local editor — an account and credits. Manual editing stays free and offline.
You direct it in text, and it writes operations. There's no microphone — voice input isn't part of it.
It responds to what you ask, then waits. It doesn't run off on its own or edit while you're away.
Direct your first pass.
The Director rides along with the cloud. Edit free and offline in the native app for macOS and Windows, and add the Director when you're ready. Request an invite to the closed beta.
